# 1996 - 2004 Chevrolet & GMC Remote Programming Instructions (Select Vehicles: See Attached List)

## (NOTE: See attached list to verify your vehicle uses these programming instructions. A maximum of two keyless remotes can be programed.) 

1. Locate the Data Link Port. It is located under the driver's side dash.![mceclip0.png](https://ckesupport.zendesk.com/hc/article_attachments/360096269151/mceclip0.png)
2. Make sure there are metal contact pins in terminals 8 and 4. Connect 8 to 4 with a suitable jumper wire (leave the jumper wire connected throughout the Programming procedure).
3. The vehicle will respond by locking and unlocking the doors to signify entering programming mode.
4. Press and hold both the LOCK and UNLOCK buttons together on the first remote to be programmed. After about 15 seconds, the vehicle will respond by locking and unlocking the doors.
5. Release the buttons on the remote. Within one minute, repeat the previous step on the remaining remotes to be programmed.
6. Remove jumper wire applied to the OBDII Port.
