STEP 1 (OF 2) KEY ACTIVATION: Follow the steps below to ACTIVATE your new key. Once you have activated your key, follow STEP 2 (of 2) KEY PAIRING to pair the key to your vehicle.
- First, simultaneously press the LOCK and PANIC buttons on the remote. The light under the PANIC button will illuminate and stay on.
- Using your ACTIVATION CODE found in the chart on page 3, enter the first digit using the LOCK button, the second digit using the PANIC button, and the third digit using the UNLOCK button.
- Now, simultaneously press the LOCK and PANIC buttons on the remote. The light will now blink back the ACTIVATION CODE you originally entered. If this does not match, go back to Step 1 to start over.
- If the light blinks rapidly this indicates an error. Go back to ACTIVATION step 1 and retry the steps using your ACTIVATION CODE. You may re-enter activation codes anytime before the key is paired to your vehicle. After the key is paired to your vehicle, do not attempt to re-enter or change the button code. This will cause the key to not work.
- Move on to STEP 2 (of 2) below to PAIR the key to your vehicle.

NOTE: If the EZ Installer is left in the vehicle’s on-board diagnostic (OBD) port for more than 5 minutes, an alarm will sound reminding you to remove it.
NOTE: If at any point the EZ Installer continues to beep rapidly, please refer to the FAQ section for more information.
NOTE: If more than one dial position exists for your vehicle, try the PRIMARY dial position first. If you are unable to successfully pair the key, try the ALTERNATE dial position listed for your vehicle.
NOTE: All existing, working keys and the new key should be present during the pairing process. Find your vehicle’s make, model, and year in the Compatibility Lookup on page 3. Turn the dial on the EZ Installer to the position listed for your vehicle’s make, model, and year. Enter the vehicle and ensure all doors are closed. Begin with the vehicle in PARK and the engine OFF. Turn hazard lights ON. Insert the original key into the ignition and start the vehicle. Remove the security label from the EZ Installer and insert it firmly into the on-board diagnostic (OBD) port located under the dash.
NOTE: The location of your vehicle’s OBD port can be found in your owner’s manual. Wait up to 8 seconds and listen for 3 quick beeps from the EZ Installer.
NOTE: If you hear a series of more than 3 rapid beeps, an error has occurred. Please see FAQs to learn more.
