2000 - 2009 Toyota & Scion Vehicles Remote Programming Instructions (Select Models)

Instructions for Models: 2004-2006 Scion xA, 2003-2009 Toyota 4Runner, 2000-2005 Toyota Celica, 2000-2005 Toyota Echo, 2007-2008 Toyota FJ Cruiser, 2001-2007 Toyota Highlander, 2001-2003 Toyota Prius, 2000-2005 Toyota RAV4, 2000-2006 Toyota Tacoma, 2004-2006 Toyota Tundra

1. Start with the key out of the ignition, DRIVER’S door open and UNLOCKED, and all other doors closed.
2. Perform these steps within 5 seconds.
   1. Insert the key into the ignition (Do NOT turn). Pull the key out.
   2. Insert the key into the ignition (Do NOT turn). Pull the key out.
3. Perform these steps within 40 seconds.
   1. Close then open the DRIVER’S door.
   2. Close then open the DRIVER’S door.
   3. Insert the key into the ignition (Do NOT turn). Pull the key out.
4. Perform these steps within 40 seconds.
   1. Close then open the DRIVER’S door.
   2. Close then open the DRIVER’S door.
   3. Insert the key into ignition and leave it in ignition.
   4. Close the DRIVER’S door.
   5. Turn the ignition to ON (Do NOT start) then back to OFF.
   6. Remove the key from the ignition.
5. Within 3 seconds, the power door locks should lock then unlock automatically indicating successful entry into PAIRING MODE. Return to Step #1 if the locks do not cycle at this point.
6. Perform these steps within 40 seconds.
   1. Press the LOCK and UNLOCK buttons on the remote simultaneously for 1 second.
   2. Immediately after letting go of the lock and unlock buttons press the lock button by itself and hold for 2 seconds.
7. Within 3 seconds, the door locks should lock and then unlock once indicating successful pairing.
8. If the door locks cycle twice, repeat steps A and B as the remote was not accepted.
9. Repeat steps A and B in Step #6 for each new remote.
10. Open DRIVER’S door.
11. Test all remotes.
