NOTE: Before entering programming mode, make sure you have all of the remotes you will be using on the vehicle. Once you program a new remote, all previous remotes will be erased from the memory. The others will not be functional until you program them again. Instructions have timing requirements. Waiting too long between steps may result in your vehicle’s computer timing out, requiring you to start over. Once you begin the pairing procedure, be sure to move at a quick and even pace.
- Close and lock all doors with the driver’s side power lock/unlock switch.
- Insert the key into the ignition and remove it at least six times within 10 seconds. The hazard lamps will flash if this step is performed successfully. NOTE: Withdraw the key completely from the ignition cylinder each time. If this procedure is performed too fast, the system will not enter pairing mode.
- Insert the key into the ignition cylinder and turn it to the ACC position.
- Within 5 seconds, push ANY button on the remote. The hazard lamps should flash. NOTE: Do not press the button more than one time in the above step. If the button is pressed more than once, the pairing procedure will not be successful.
- If there are any other remotes to pair (including the old ones), unlock them then lock all doors using the driver’s side power lock/unlock switch. Within 5 seconds, push ANY button on the next remote. The hazard lamps should flash. Repeat this step for each remote (including any existing transmitters).
- Turn the key to the OFF position then remove the key from the ignition. Unlock the doors using the driver’s side power unlock/lock switch and open the driver’s door.
