      2006 - 2009 Mazda MX-5 Miata Remote Programming Instructions

      NOTE:  Instructions for Vehicles without Smart Entry System

       

      1. Remove key from ignition Close all doors
      2. Open the driver's door
      3. Perform following steps within 24 seconds. Turn ignition switch ON and back to LOCK position three times
      4. Close and open driver's door three times
      5. Door locks should lock and unlock automatically, if they do not wait 40 seconds and repeat procedure starting at step 1
      6. Press the UNLOCK button, on each keyless remote to be programmed, twice. The door locks should lock and unlock after each remote is programmed. Exit vehicle and test remote(s). NOTE: If the door locks do not lock and unlock
      7. Close and open the driver's door once, the door should lock and unlock twice
      8. If door locks do not lock and unlock at this point, start the procedure over with step 3
