NOTE: Only RKE remotes programmed to this vehicle will work. The vehicle can be reprogrammed so that lost or stolen remotes no longer work. Each vehicle can have up to eight remotes programmed to it. A new remote can be programmed to the vehicle when there is one recognized remote. For vehicles sold in Canada, two recognized remotes are required to program a new remote.
- Programming with a recognized remote.
- The vehicle must be off and both the recognized and new remotes must be with you.
- Remove key base from recognized RKE remote.
- Place the recognized remote in the cup holder.
- Insert the vehicle key into the key cylinder located above the license plate.
- Open the hatch/trunk.
- Turn the key five times within ten seconds.
- The DIC displays "Ready for remote #2, 3, or 4".
- Place the new remote in the steering column remote pocket with the buttons facing up and the base toward the opening facing the passenger side.
- Press the engine start/stop button.
- The DIC displays "Ready for remote #4 or 5, up to 8".
- Press unlock on each newly programmed remote to complete the process.
NOTE: To program additional remotes, repeat steps 8-11. Press and hold the engine start/stop button for 12 seconds if programming is complete. Remember to return the key base into the RKE remote.
Programming without a recognized remote.
NOTE: If there are no currently recognized remotes available, follow this procedure to program up to eight remotes. This feature is not available in Canada. This procedure will take approximately 30 minutes to complete. The vehicle must be off and all remotes programmed must be present.
- The vehicle must be off.
- Remove the key from the remote and insert the vehicle key into the key cylinder located above the license plate.
- Open the hatch/trunk. Turn the key five times within ten seconds. The DIC message displays "Remote learn pending, please wait".
- Return key base back into RKE remote. Wait for 10 minutes until the DIC displays "Press engine start button to learn, then press engine start/stop button". The DIC reads "Remote learn pending, please wait".
- Repeat Step 6 two additional times. After the third time all previously known remotes will no longer work with the vehicle. Remaining remotes can be relearned during the next steps. The DIC display should now show "Ready for remote #1".
- Place the new remote in the steering column remote pocket with the chrome buttons facing up and the base toward the opening facing the passenger side.
- Press the engine start/stop button. When the remote is learned, the DIC display will show that it is ready to program the new remote.
- Remove the remote from the remote pocket and press the lock or unlock button on the remote.
- To program additional remotes, repeat steps 9-10.
- When all additional remotes are programmed, press and hold the engine start/stop button for 12 seconds to exit programming mode.
