2012 - 2013 Chevrolet Cruze Remote Programming Instructions
NOTE: If all programed remotes are lost you MUST get a new one programed from your local Automotive Locksmith or dealership. The vehicle can be programed so that lost or stolen remotes no longer work. Any remaining remotes will need to be reprogrammed. Each vehicle can have up to five remotes matched to it.
NOTE: These are instructions for programming with an already recognized keyless remote for Keyless Access Vehicles. A new remote can programed to the vehicle when there is one recognized remote. To program, the vehicle must be off and all of the remotes, both currently recognized and new, must be with you.
- Remove the plastic trim piece from the small storage area next to the accessory power outlet towards the front of the console, to access the remote slot.
- Push the button on the recognized remote to extend the key blade. Insert the key blade into the remote slot.
- Insert the vehicle key of the new remote into the key lock cylinder located on the outside of the driver door and turn the key to the unlock position five times in 10 seconds.
- The Driver Information Center (DIC) will display "READY FOR REMOTE #2, 3, 4 or 5".
- Remove the recognized key and place the new remote into the remote slot.
- Press the ignition.
- When the remote is learned, the DIC with show that it is ready to program the next remote.
- Remove the remote from the remote pocket and press unlock on remote.
- When all additional remotes are programed, press and hold the ignition for 10 seconds to exit Programming mode. Replace the plastic trim piece from the small storage area.
NOTES: To program additional remotes, repeat Steps 3 through 5.
